ENERGY SAVER QUIZ
TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. To enter this Promotion, you must be aged 18 years or over. You’ll need to be an existing Mercury customer or join Mercury as a new customer for a minimum term of one year to be in to win the prize (6 months of power).
    
2. To enter the Promotion, simply complete the ‘Energy Saver Quiz' online at page.mercury.co.nz/energy-profile-quiz (the “Promotion Period”).


3. By completing and submitting your ‘Energy Saver Quiz' form, you will receive 1 entry into the draw to win. Submitting the ‘Energy Saver Quiz' multiple times will not count as additional entries.


4. There is a maximum of one entry per person.
    

5. If you are our winner, you’ll get a bill credit for your electricity charges each month for 6 months (up to a maximum of $300 per month). The value of this bill credit will be the amount you were charged for your electricity usage during each month of power, up to a maximum of $300 per month, and for 6 consecutive months. Depending on your billing cycle, this credit may not show until after your month of power bill is issued. The credit will only apply to electricity charges (including your daily fixed charge, variable usage charges, GST and the Electricity Authority Levy) and excludes all gas charges, special charges and service charges.
    
6. The prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash.  If for any reason the advertised prize can’t be provided, we will give you another prize of the same value.

7. If you’re our lucky winner, Mercury will use the price plan that you are on five working days before your 6 months of power starts to work out what your fixed and variable charges.  If you switch to Mercury for this prize, we'll use Mercury's standard price plan to work this out.  
    
8. Using smart meters, Mercury can work out exactly how much power you use to work out the monthly credit for your electricity charges (if they're less than $300).  If we can’t work out your usage for any reason, we won't be able to work out exactly how much power you used to apply the monthly credit.  In this situation, we'll just apply a $300 credit to your account to make sure you don't miss out.
    
9. Mercury will apply your 6 months of power credit automatically to your Mercury account each month during the 6 months of power.
    
10. Sounds obvious, but if you switch to another retailer during the term of your 6 months of power, you will not be able to claim your 6 months of power credit.   
     
11. Mercury's standard residential terms will apply. 

12. We want this Promotion to be fair for everyone, so if any entries are incomplete, illegible, ‘hacked’ or look fraudulent, then we may not be able to accept your entry into the Promotion.
     
13. The promotion period runs from 20 February, 2023 to 30 April, 2023 ("Promotion Period").
     
14. One winner will be randomly drawn from all eligible entries within ten working days of the end of the Promotion Period. If you are our lucky winner, we’ll notify you by email within 10 days of the prize draw using the email address you submitted when you completed the ‘Energy Saver Quiz' form.


15. We will do our best to contact you if you are the winner, but if we can’t get in touch with you within 10 days of the prize draw, we may redraw the prize and award it to someone else.
     
16. The winner will be required to confirm acceptance of these terms and conditions in order to receive their prize. If the winner chooses not to accept these terms and conditions, they will no longer be eligible to receive their prize, and the prize will be redrawn.
     

17. We’re committed to protecting your privacy. We’ll only collect and use your details for the purposes of running this Promotion.
     
18. By completing the ‘Energy Saver Quiz' form, we’ll add you to our contact list. This means that we’ll make contact with you about our products and services, and you’ll also hear from us about energy saving tips, e.transport and more. You’ll be able to unsubscribe at any time by using the ‘unsubscribe’ link in any email you receive from us.
     
19. To access or correct your details, get in touch with us. Mercury’s privacy policy will apply.
     
20. If you win this prize, you agree to participate in any publicity generated by Mercury, and agree to the use of your first name and location for promotional purposes. You agree that Mercury can use footage and photography captured of you for promotional or advertising purposes. We love sharing good news!

21. Mercury NZ Limited is the promoter of this Promotion. By entering, your information will only be used by Mercury – we won’t share this with Facebook or Instagram. This Promotion is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook or Instagram so Facebook and/or Instagram will not be liable to you for any reason.


22. We do our best to make all of our promotions wonderful, but sometimes things can go wrong. However, if something does go wrong, Mercury and its suppliers will not be liable to you for any loss or damage (including personal injury) that you might suffer through participating (or not participating) in the Promotion or winning (or not winning) any prize.
     
23. Occasionally, things happen which are outside of Mercury’s control and we may have to change or cancel the Promotion or these terms and conditions.
