With Mercury rewards, you can unlock Free Power Days and enjoy 24 hours of electricity on us. There are two types of Free Power Days you can unlock; your anniversary bonus or a Free Power Day by redeeming points.

HOW DOes a FREE POWER DAY WORK?

A Free Power Day is a full 24 hours of free electricity that runs from 12:00am to 11:59pm. Once you've enjoyed this, a credit will be applied to your account within 35 days. When this is applied, you'll see a 'Free Power Day' credit on your bill. This credit includes all applicable electricity usage and lines charges, the EA Levy, and GST for that day.

If you don’t have a smart meter, or your smart meter isn’t communicating with our system, we can’t calculate the exact value of your Free Power Day. Instead, you’ll get a credit based on your average daily usage, and we’ll add 50% on top. 

WHAT IS AN ANNIVERSARY BONUS?

Each year on your Mercury anniversary, you’ll unlock a bonus Free Power Day. That’s 24 hours of electricity for you to enjoy. Plus, the longer you’ve been with us, the more you'll unlock.

 

  • If you’ve been with us for one or two years, you’ll unlock one anniversary Free Power Day.
  • If you’ve been with us for three or four years, you’ll unlock two anniversary Free Power Days.
  • If you’ve been with us for five or more years, you’ll unlock three anniversary Free Power Days.

You can view your anniversary month on your rewards dashboard in My Account via the Mercury App or our website.
