FAIR USAGE POLICY
FOR MERCURY’S ELECTRIC VEHICLE DISCOUNT
We may apply our Fair Usage Policy where in our reasonable opinion your electricity usage is excessive and/or unreasonable as detailed in this paragraph.
Fair usage will be determined by taking into account average residential customer profiles and your estimated electricity usage and usage patterns, while allowing for plug-in vehicle charging.
If your electricity usage materially exceeds your estimated fair use then your usage will be excessive and/or unreasonable.
If your electricity usage is excessive and/or unreasonable we may contact you to advise you that your usage is in breach of our Fair Usage Policy.
We may then request that you stop or alter your usage to come within our Fair Usage Policy.
If your excessive or unreasonable electricity usage continues after receipt of a request to stop or alter the nature of such usage, we may without further notice, cancel your Electric Vehicle Discount and/or apply charges to your account reflecting the amount you would have paid if you were paying non-discounted rates for the excessive and/or unreasonable portion of your electricity usage. The portion of your electricity usage that is within our fair use policy and between the hours of 9pm and 7am would be charged at the discounted rate.
