Mokai Geothermal Power Station
Mōkai geothermal station is located on the Mōkai geothermal field, 30km northwest of Taupō.

Mōkai Geothermal Power Station is jointly owned by Tūaropaki Trust (75%) and Mercury (25%). 
It is a combined cycle plant with 10 binary turbines and two steam turbines.

It was commission in 2000 as 55MW geothermal station. In 2005, 38MW was added, followed by a further 20MW in 2008.

In mid-2013, the drilling of one new well was successfully completed. This was followed by the drilling of a relief well later that year.

Tūaropaki utilise the geothermal resource to support milk powder production and temperature-controlled horticulture in greenhouses.
